Tenantoir / Delete Account / Data Deletion
Delete Account / Data Deletion
You can ask us to delete your Tenantoir account and the personal data linked to it at any time. This page is the account and data deletion page for the Tenantoir app (Android package com.tenantoir), for owners and tenants alike.
1. How to request deletion
Account deletion is handled by our support team, so that we can check the request really comes from the account holder. There are two ways to start it.
Option 1: from the app
- Open the Tenantoir app and sign in.
- Go to Menu, then Delete account.
- Your email app opens with a message to our support team, ready to send from your registered email address. Send it.
Option 2: by email
Send an email to contact@tenantoir.com from the email address registered on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". Including your name and, if you like, the phone number on the account helps us find it. We will confirm by email once your request is received and when it is complete.
If you can no longer use your registered email, write to us and we will tell you how we can verify that the account is yours.
If you are an owner with an active subscription, cancel it first in the app (Menu, then Subscription) so that no further renewal is attempted. See the Subscription Terms. Owners may also be asked to end their tenants' stays first, so that those tenants' records stay correct.
2. Timeline
Once we receive and verify your request, we delete your data within 30 days, except for the records we must keep by law described below.
3. What is deleted
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Profile: name, email address, phone number, business name | Erased |
| Login credentials (hashed password) | Erased |
| Owner payout details (bank account number, IFSC, PAN, registered address) held by Tenantoir | Erased |
| Emergency contact details a tenant gave | Erased |
| Property, room, bed, rent, dues, payment, complaint and stay records | Kept without your details. They no longer carry your name, email or phone and show as "Deleted user", because the owners and tenants on the other side of them need that history |
4. What we may keep, and why
| Data | Why it is kept | For how long |
|---|---|---|
| Financial and tax records, such as payment records and subscription invoices | Indian tax, accounting and other laws require us to keep them | The legally required period, then erased |
| Records that we are legally required to keep or need to handle a legal claim or dispute | Legal obligations | Only as long as required |
Retained records are used only for those legal purposes. Razorpay, our payment processor, may also keep transaction, payout and KYC records under its own legal obligations and privacy policy.
5. Information about tenants in owners' records
Owners need a history of rent, dues and payments for their own accounting. If a tenant deletes their account, the payment and stay history that an owner needs for their own records may remain in the owner's records in anonymised form, so that it can no longer be linked to the tenant.
6. Deleting only some data
If you would like a correction or removal of specific details without closing your account, email contact@tenantoir.com and tell us what you need.
7. Contact
